Meeting Future Healthcare Needs

The Palisades Medical Center's 30th Anniversary franck muller replica watches Campaign will play a key role in helping Palisades and the Harborage build for the future. Your generous donation will support the following:

Advanced Technology and
Greater Access to Specialized Care

We have consistently improved our hospital facilities and added modern technology to meet the changing needs of our patients. New Jersey's Department of Health and Senior Services recently ranked Palisades Medical Center the #1 hospital in Hudson County for the treatment of Congestive Heart Failure. Our dedicated unit for Cardiac Care provides our patients and their families with advanced personalized care. Your support is needed to further update technology and continue to recruit and retain exceptionally skilled healthcare professionals.

Quality Long-Term Care
The Harborage is a first-class 245-bed skilled nursing facility that improves the quality of life of those who take advantage of its levels of care. Long-term skilled nursing provides residents with life extending care and the comfort of family-like compassion. Short-term rehabilitation provides sub-acute care for patients recovering from serious injuries, debilitating diseases or strokes. Endowment funds would support further program development at the Harborage — like the recent addition of the Ventilation Therapy Unit devoted to residents with respiratory distress.

Reaching Out to Our Culturally Diverse Community
Exemplified by the recent introduction of our Pastoral Care program, Palisades Medical Center is reaching out to faith-based community services to develop a health ministry outreach that would include health education, preventive screenings and diagnostic care in mobile units. Research has shown that the healing process is more profound when a healthcare provider and patient are able to communicate effectively and understand each other's cultural differences and similarities.

Funding for this program will ensure adequate staff is available to provide monthly outreach programs to thousands. Funding is needed for programs that promote cultural and spiritual diversity training, and allow for outreach to a variety of communities.

NursesRecruiting and Retaining Professionals
An essential tool used for Nurse Recruitment is the provision of financial assistance and tuition reimbursement for students. Helping young professionals move through their education from LPN to RN and Masters level Nursing will ensure a larger labor pool in the future. Support for the students would also include daycare assistance, transportation and mentorship programs.

Retaining the best and the brightest includes offering professional development opportunities and Continuing Medical Education. Endowment funding would guarantee a steady stream of educational programs. In the face of a state-wide nursing shortage and decreased enrollment in physician training, Endowment funding would ensure our hospital is able to be the area's employer of choice to attract the highest level of professionals needed to provide quality care. Our current need is to recruit candidates who reflect the diversity of our community.

Maternity CareWomen's Health Care
The creation of a Women's Health Initiative has been identified as a critical need to address the specialty care that women require. With your support, this initiative could include enhancement and addition of future programs.

Community Wellness and Prevention — The creation of a Women's Health Initiative could include a community center offering education and support on a variety of issues affecting women's lives. Health screenings could alert more women to take preventive steps.

Columbia Presbyterian Breast Care Center — Currently providing the most advanced treatments available, technology upgrades are constantly needed to keep pace with advancements in the war on this disease.

Maternity Care — Patients currently enjoy the comfort of our renovated LDRP (Labor Delivery Recovery Post-Partum) rooms. A team of New York-Presbyterian neonatologists supervises the nursery.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine — Approximately 30 percent of women experience a pregnancy-related complication before, during or after their delivery. That's why our team of Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of expectant mothers and their unborn babies.

Minimally invasive treatment for Fibroids — Last year's launch of the Uterine Fibroid Embolization program is an example of the kind of specialty programs that could be made available through additional funding. Historically, women were faced with the decision to have a total hysterectomy to treat the pain caused by fibroids. Today, with the use of this minimally invasive procedure, surgery can often be eliminated as a treatment.
